Names on .mn work in the same way as .com names: they can be accessed from anywhere in the world and all the DNS name servers on the planet treat a .mn domain in the same manner as a .com name. There are several secondary servers in North America, Europe and Asia that support .mn worldwide and guarantee the speed and reliability of your domain name.
: All Domain names can be registered for a 1-10 years term at US$49/year. There is no application fee for a new Domain name.
: Yes. If a domain name has been registered, WHOIS information is accessible as part of the search result for checking domain name availability. This data is to be used only for lawful purposes and under no circumstances, should be used for mass unsolicited, commercial advertising or solicitations via email (spam).
: MN names can contain the English-language letters A through Z, and the digits 0 through 9. You can also use hyphens, but your domain name cannot begin or end with a hyphen. Spaces and special characters (such as !, $,_, &, and so on) are not permitted. The minimum length is 3 characters, and the maximum length is 63 characters (excluding "http://www" and ".mn")
: We have the registration policies on our website. These registration policies represent a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity), as an end user, and Registry. What are Premium Domain Names (“PDNs”)?

Due to their limited quantity, premium domain names ("PDNs") are scarce and have higher value than regular domain names. Please take note of the following premium fees for different types of domain names: 1. Double digits numeric domain names ("NDNs"): These are names made up of pure digits, such as 00, 11, 22, and so on up to 99. The recurring (register/renew) premium fee for these names is $1,000. 2. Two-character ASCII domain names: These names consist of a double letter in the alphabet, such as XO, ME, UB, and so on up to ZZ. The recurring (register/renew) premium fee for these names is $1,000. 3. Mix of digit and character domain names: These names are made up of a combination of two letters with a digit and a letter in the alphabet, such as B5, A1, 9C, and so on up to T1. The recurring (register/renew) premium fee for these names is $1,000. The above domain names are available from 1st October 2024. Please note that there is no extra tax that will be charged on the premium domain name; it is already included in the premium price. In addition to the premium fee mentioned above, you will still need to pay the standard domain name registration fee and any other administrative fees to your registrar/reseller. These registration and administrative fees vary with each registrar/reseller, so you should check with your preferred registrar for their rates.

What extensions of PDNs may I apply for?

PDNs can be applied for the .mn extension.

How do I apply for any of these PDNs?

You can apply for any available PDNs through our accredited registrars/resellers. These names are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. The names you apply for will be checked for availability for registration. If supporting documents for the extension ".mn" are required, or if your application is unsuccessful, you will be notified. Before applying for a PDN, please review the Domain Name Registration Policy to confirm your eligibility for the category of interest before applying.

What is the application process?

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for a PDN:

Step 1:

Visit any .MN accredited registrar/reseller and use their portal to check the availability of the name you want.

Step 2:

If the name you want is available, you can apply with the same registrar by registering your request according to the instructions provided on the registrar/reseller portal.

Step 3:

If you apply for a Premium Domain Name, you need to provide proof of eligibility.You can view the rules by clicking here

After you apply, the registrar/reseller will respond within a few days, based on their service delivery period. They will let you know if your eligibility proof and/or application are accepted. If so, they will collect the required premium fee. The premium fee is either $1,000 plus the prevailing VAT or $100 plus the prevailing VAT. This payment will be submitted to the MN Registry (Datacom LLC). If your application fails at any point, the premium fee will be refunded through the registrar/reseller.

Step 4:

If your application is successful, the registrar/reseller will notify you about the assignment of the name a few days later, based on their service delivery period. From this stage, the WHOIS (domain registration information) database will show your domain name registration details globally.

Is the premium fee collected at the renewal of names?

Yes, the renewal fee for a Premium Domain Name is the same as the premium registration fee of $1000 every year. In addition to the premium fee mentioned above, you will still need to pay the standard domain name registration fee and any other administrative fees to your registrar/reseller. These registration and administrative fees vary with each registrar/reseller.
